​Primary Outreach Event – Supporting Professionals, Empowering Learners

We are excited to host a Primary Outreach Event designed to support professionals working with autistic young people in a primary setting. This interactive session will provide valuable insights, best practices, and resources to help autistic learners thrive in their educational environments.

​

As a specialist independent school for autistic children and young people aged 5–19, Gretton School understands the importance of consistency, tailored support, and a nurturing environment. Every learner is unique, and our experience allows us to create strategies that reduce anxiety and build confidence. Now, we want to share our knowledge with you.​

Event Itinerary

3:45pm - 4:00pm: Arrival

​

• Welcome from our Headteacher, Beth Elkins

• Understanding Why: Exploring the behaviours presented, the reasons behind them, and how we can better connect with parents, led by our Family Liaison Officer, Zoe Copping.

• A Nurturing Environment: A session with one of our Primary Teachers, Heather Cruise, on creating a supportive and positive environment for learners.

5:00pm: Break/Refreshments/Networking Opportunity

​

• The Power of Connection: Discover the core of Relational Practice with Headteacher Beth Elkins and our Research & Assessment Psychologist Dr Andy McCombie.

• Personalised Q&A Session: An opportunity to ask questions and gain useful tips and support strategies to take away.
