As part of transition week activities, Ms Olsen’s pet ball python, Monty, spent the day in Upland Class on Tuesday 10th July. Our Assistant Head of Secondary School, Mrs Elkins, introduced herself to Upland students who are transitioning between primary year 6 and secondary year 7.
The students were thoroughly impressed that Mrs Elkins conquered her fear of snakes and held Monty!
Monty was also assisting Ms Olsen’s introduction to Computer Science lessons, where students had the opportunity to learn about a language programme called Python and write their very first lines of code.
Students from Upland, staff and other students across the school had the opportunity to hold Monty and learn about snake handling and care.
