This week, seven students had the unique opportunity of a full tour of the Houses of Parliament, followed by a ‘People’s Parliament Workshop’.
Students got to set foot in the House of Commons, just an hour before the Brexit Plan ‘B’ was announced! Despite us all being confident we could solve the Brexit situation, security were not keen and after three students fussed over a security dog until it was rolling around on its back, we had to move on.
The complete tour of the building was followed by the workshop. 10 minutes into the workshop, Cambridgeshire South MP, Heidi Allen, came in and spent 20 minutes working with all the students and answering a wide range of political and ‘other’ questions!
Mr Thomas and Mr Watkins said: “A great experience and great day out for all. All students did themselves and the school proud throughout the trip.”
