On Tuesday 2nd October, primary classes visited St Andrews Church in Girton for a Harvest Festival service. This is now the fourth consecutive year in which primary students have visited the church at Harvest time.
During the service, students had a discussion about why and how Christians celebrate Harvest. The church was decorated with fruit, beautiful flowers and ears of corn. Students and staff then took part in a memory quiz about Harvest and there was a bonus point given to the person who could identify the oldest part of the church. They were some very good guesses from both staff and students. They found out that the church is over 800 years old!
Thank you to Reverend Mandy and Diane for welcoming Gretton School to the church, staff and students hope to visit you again soon for a Christmas celebration.
