Upcoming Open Afternoons

We are thrilled to be able to open our doors to visitors and invite you to see the school (see below for available dates for booking).

Attending one of our Open Afternoon Tours is a great opportunity for parents/carers to have a look around Gretton School on a typical school day. As you walk around the school you will see the learners going about their learning, playing and other day-to-day activities. This is why we run our tours during term time: we believe it is vital to see the school as a school, not just a building. Before we begin our tour you will receive a presentation that covers information about our site, curriculum, therapeutic offer and admissions process. We currently offer two types of tours:

  • KS2&3: A tour around our Manor Farm site for Years 3-9.

  • KS4&5: A tour around our Rectory Site for Years 10 & 11, and Sixth Form.

Should your young person be in Year 9, we would suggest booking on both types of tours if you wish to see both sites, as we regret it is not possible to view both sites on the same day.

"It’s refreshing to truly meet people who understand Autism and the way it impacts the way our children learn. I did get a real sense of how the children are put at the centre of everything."

Please note these events are for parents/carers only, we cannot accommodate young people during our term time tours.

During term time, the tours are limited to one person per household. This is due to running the tours during the school day and needing to minimise the disruption and noise for our learners during these visits, while allowing as many people as possible to view the school. However, please do contact us if you require any additional support or assistance in accessing the tour.

For our tours run during school holidays, we can increase capacity to 3 family members per group, which includes the young person.

"It was amazing to be in a place where all staff know how to speak to autistic young people and are so enthusiastic about supporting them to thrive."

Please do ask questions on the tour, but please note that these should be kept at a general level that is relevant to all those on the tour. We are happy to answer specific and more detailed questions on the phone (01223 277438 Option 2) or email (admissions@grettonschool.com) before or after the tour.

"The school obviously understands the needs of the child, and offer the support for the child to thrive."
